Alternative Press (AP) — a music magazine based out of Cleveland — is celebrating their 30th anniversary of their first issue with an exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The exhibit honors the accomplishments the magazine has made to become the one of the largest international music magazines by delivering their fans interviews, photos, upcoming releases and alternative cultural trends for the past three decades.

The exhibit — Never Give Up: Alternative Press Magazine at 30 — tells the story of how the magazine went from Mike Shea, owner and CEO, running the publication out of his home in Aurora, Ohio to becoming the No. 1 youth music magazine in the world. Interviews with longtime stuff AP members and digital archives of every magazine issue are also displayed. The exhibit will only remain open for about three more months.

As an Alternative Press supporter, it is amazing to see the impact the magazine has on the music scene and pop culture. The magazine has impacted my life in more ways than one — I could never thank AP enough for introducing me to all of the bands and artists I love and helping me to see exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life. The magazine still brings me the same joy as a 19-year-old as it did when I was 14.
